Easter Weekend

We had originally penciled in the words "Do 2007 Taxes" on March 22, 2008.
But the temptation to do something fun with one of our first mutually unscheduled days in weeks won out over the annual rendezvous with the IRS.

On the Lexington Green

Looking for a quick day trip that would get us back home for dinner... we decided that Lexington/Concord was perfect (it's a pretty 15-minute drive from Cambridge). We explored the Lexington Green (where "the shot heard round the world" was fired), strolled parts of the Minute Man Trail, and ended up in Concord - a town overflowing landmarks from literary pillars of the 1800s including Nathaniel Hawthorne, Ralph Waldo Emerson and Louisa May Alcott.

It almost inspired me to reread The Scarlet Letter for old times' sake. Almost. Little Women is much more tempting.

On Easter Sunday, we celebrated with good friends Tom & Liz! There's nothing like a few mimosas with excellent friends on a beautiful day...

Vernal Equinox

March 20 @ 5:48AM
So? Did you all feel it? "It" being Spring?

There's a gorgeous blue sky hovering over the Boston area today. However, it's been created by blustery winds whipping around at 40+ miles per hour. These gentle breezes make the RealFeel temperature a good 15 degrees lower than the actual temperature. Brrr!

But this is why hats, scarves and gloves exist, no?! Happy Spring and Happy Easter!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Lá Fhéile Pádraig Sona Duit!

So this is actually Kennebunkport Porter, but it was still pretty malty and tasty. Nothing like the real stuff though... ah, we have such fond memories of the shamrock-stamped pints we enjoyed at the Guinness Brewery on our trip to Ireland back in March 2005. Almost exactly three years ago!

Kurt Weill Cabaret

I thought that the Cantata Singers' graphic designer did a great job with the materials for this upcoming show. It conjures up visions of fishnets and, well, just sass in general! Music was handed out last week and I'm looking forward to seeing how the production comes together.

It's raining here today. We've been seeing more rain and less snow - surely that's a sign of spring?!
